Card Subscription #4

Here it is, the last card in this series. I saved the best one for last. I liked all the cards we did, but I think this one is my favorite. The scalloped edge was done using the slot punch on Whisper White card stock and then the little flower from Small Sayings was stamped on each scallop. The large flower is from Heartfelt Thanks. The saying across the bottom is also from Small Sayings and says; happy today, happy tomorrow, HAPPY EVERYTHING.
That's it for this month. I can't wait to see what set we'll be using next month.
Thanks for stopping in and taking a look. If you get an urge to leave a comment please feel free to do so.

January Card #3

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was quiet and I was lazy. I just laid around all day yesterday and did nothing. I had a whole day to stamp and I didn't take advantage of it. I didn't even get dressed, it must be the weather. It was just too cold to even think about going out anywhere. My joints were having fits and my back was hurting due to the cold. I'm not complaining mind you, it is after all January.
Todays card is the third one from the January Card Subscription, or as I like to say, Card Club. I like the saying on this one. It's hard to see from the scan so I'll tell you what it says.... Friends are the family you choose yourself.... Tomorrow I'll post the fourth and final card in this set. You won't want to miss this one as I've saved the best for last.
Thanks for looking.....Rita

January Card Subscription

Since I've been AWOL the last day or so I've decided to post two cards instead of the usual one.
It's that time again, time for Adrian's card subscription for January. All the cards done this month used the Small Sayings set from the Winter Mini. The first card is a mini card and envelope. I didn't have an alphabet set the right size for this so I had to do it free hand. My letters are a little off but I think it gives it character. This little card was a lot of fun to make.

This next card uses the tearing and layering technique. After stamping the sentiment I cut the card stock to fit inside the metal tag and then attached it to the card with a brad. There are two more cards that I will be posting next week. I'm looking forward to our February Subscription.
Thanks for looking and have a Blessed weekend...........Rita

Using up the Scraps

I've been trying to use up my scraps before cutting into any more new sheets of card stock. I have sooooo many scraps I'm begining to think they're multiplying in the box at night after the lights go out.
Anyway, I dug out these scraps the other day and made this card. The stamp came from the SU set Love Ya Bunches and the print paper is from the TAC Tutti Frutti collection. I pulled out my Giga Scalloped Circle punch and punched out the image and then did some doodles around the outside. I did the coloring with my watercolor crayons (from JoAnn's). I added the dots in the corners but I'm not sure I like those.

Lighthouse

I found a little time to stamp today and made this card. I really like this set, it's called Lighthouse and is retired. I took the colors from the color wheel, I never would have thought to use these together, they are Sage Shadow, Bravo Burgundy and Brocade Blue. I stamped the image and the saying with Bravo Burgundy ink. The stamp set, card stock and ink are from SU, all other supplies except the punch are generic. I used the Slit punch to punch the sides and added an eyelet to each side, then added the twine and tied it in a knot. This card was cut so that it folds from the top. I love the saying in this set. Sorry it didn't scan very well.
Thanks for stopping by. All comments are appreciated.

Magnets

I didn't have anything to post today so I decided to make these magnets. I pulled out my SU! Tagger's Dozen set and made three and then thought it might be cute to use one from the TAC set Frazzled. I still have to attach a magnet to the backs. These can also be used as paper weights.
It's been so hectic around here since the holidays that I just can't seem to find time to stamp. I have an infant that cries almost all the time and requires a lot of attention and by the time she goes home I just want to sit and relax. I'm hoping I can do some serious stamping this weekend. That's it for this week. Everyone have a Blessed weekend and I'll see you Monday. Thanks for looking..............Rita

Help! I've lost my groove!

I had some time to stamp today so I went in and sat down and thought about what I was going to make. I needed a card for a friend's birthday and decided that was what I would do. So, I thought about it and realized I wasn't coming up with any really good ideas. I wanted to use my new embossing folder so I ran it through the Big Shot and embossed a piece of Basic Black cardstock. My friend is younger than me but only by 5 years so I thought black was appropriate. Now, what to do with that, hmmm, ok black goes with red so I pulled out a sheet of Real Red cardstock and my TAC ladybug set. Well, I'm not totally satisfied with the outcome but this is what I ended up with. I used my Giga Scallop Punch for the main image and attached a pop dot under the flower. The oval bookplate was cut with a Sizzix die and attached with red eyelets. Yeah, I got to use my Cropadile!
All cardstock is from Stampin' Up! All stamps are from The Angel Company (TAC).
Now I'm off to find some inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.............

Growing Up

As promised these are the last two scrapbook pages. This first one has several pictures from different years.
Why do all children have to show you their muscles? We were no different from the rest, as you can see there's a picture of each one of us showing our muscles. We had a lot of fun back then when life was simpler............ This is Easter 1959. I think this was the last year our Mother made us Easter baskets. I can't believe I had an Easter basket when I was 14! Anyway, there we are in our new Easter outfits holding our baskets, chocolate rabbit anyone? Mmmm love those marshmallow rabbits....
Let me know if you enjoyed going down memory lane with me by way of my scrapbook pages. I have many more I could post another time if you're interested.
Okay, now I'm off to create something for tomorrows post. Thanks for stopping by...............

My Family

Here is another page from my heritage album. This is my father when he was a baby. In the upper left corner is the birth announcement his parents sent out. I thought this was really neat, it has my grandmother's handwriting on it............. This is my family taken in 1947, I'm the one in the middle. About a year and a half after this picture was taken my little sister was born, so there were four of us growing up. That's it for today, come back tomorrow for the last two pages featuring the kids..............Have a great evening!

Mother and Me

These are some pages from my Heritage Album I did a while back. This first one is my Mother (in the buggy) and when she was older with her brother and sister. Her sister was born on her 12th birthday, so they shared the same birthday. How fun is that? This is my Mother when she was nineteen. Her name is on the tag in the left corner. I blocked it for posting purposes. You will notice that I did that on several pictures here, but they aren't like that in the album.
This one is my Mother and me, except the picture in the top right is my older sister. That's me with Mom at the top left, me in the middle at 3 yrs. and again in the bottom right.
I have two more days of scrapbook pages and then it's back to cards. I hope to have something made by then. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

More Scrapbook Pages

I guess you've noticed my Blog has a new look. I was getting a little tired of the old look and decided it was time for a change. I think I like this one, I hope you do too. Okay, so much for that. My first scrapbook page today is a double page layout of my daughter when she was on the High School Drill Team. Hey, I was built like that once......... This next page is my granddaughters on Halloween 2004. I made the Hershey's costume and my daughter and son in-law made the hat to go with it. I had nothing to do with the other costume, Kristen did that all by herself.
Okay, this last one was a lot of fun to do but I have no idea who this is. The back of the picture says she was eighteen and that's all I know.
I will be posting scrapbook pages next week and then back to some cards. I'm hoping to get some time to stamp this weekend but I also need to get caught up on some neglected scrapbook pages. I hope you enjoy looking at these, let me know what you think, next week I'll post some Heritage pages.
Have a great weekend! Blessings to all.

Scrapbooking

As promised, here are a couple of scrapbook pages I've done. The first one is my youngest granddaughter Brianna. This was when she was a cheerleader for her third grade pee wee football team. She just loves to cheer! This page is both of my granddaughters Kristen and Brianna on Easter 2005. As you can see I'm not an expert scrapbooker and I really lack in the journaling. Come back tomorrow for 2 more pages. Thanks for looking.

Card Subscription #3

This is the third card from the card subscription. This one is my favorite. Adrian used the Definition BG stamp on her sample and I used the embossing folder from Cuddlebug on mine. Also in the lower corner I added the tag using the Designer Tag Punch kit. We used different flowers on the tag in the envelope. That's one of the nice things about this subscription, you don't have to do yours exactly the same. I follow her layouts and go from there. This is the last card from this subscription. There was a fourth one but I didn't like the way mine turned out. Tomorrow I will start posting scrapbook pages until I can get some more cards made. Thanks for looking.

Recipe Swap

This is the last swap I joined. That's right, I joined another one after I said I wouldn't. This one was a Pampered Chef Recipe Swap. I've never done a recipe swap and thought it would be fun and interesting. I don't collect recipe's anymore and with my husband and myself on special diets I don't do a lot of baking, so I thought this might make a nice gift for someone after it's put together. I decided to do my favorite Incredible 12 minute Cherry Chocolate Cake. I love this recipe because it only takes 3 ingredients and just 12 minutes to bake, in the microwave, and is DELICIOUS! If you can't read it and would like to have a copy send me an email and I would be happy to send it to you. I stamped the cake stamp from the Simply Sweet stamp set accross the bottom and added the Yum Yum from Too Terriffic Tags. The Card Stock is Real Red and Basic Black. All supplies except the white CS, ribbon and staple are Stampin' Up. thanks for looking.

Happy Everything

Just playing around and this is what I came up with. I love cows and the look of red, white and black together. The cow print at the top was printed on the computer from ink-stains.com. I thought this would make a cute Note Card. All supplies except the ribbon are from Stampin' Up. Wow, the scan makes this look really crooked.
Thanks for looking and have a Blessed weekend.......Rita

Anniversary

This is a quick and easy Anniversary card I made for my husband's sister and brother-in-law. I stamped 38 in the middle of Lexicon of Love to indicate the years of marriage. The base card was stamped using the By Definition BG stamp. It's hard to see but I stamped always across the bottom using Small Script. All stamp sets (except the numbers) are Stampin' Up. I punched out the yellow using my new Giga Scallop Square Punch and then hand punched around the outside. The card stock is SU. Ribbon and butterfly unknown. Thanks for looking.

X is for X-RAY

As promised in my last entry here is the other page I did for the Alphabet Book Swap. I used my Coluzzle to cut out all the little squares and the window square for the skeleton for a total of 54 squares. It was very time consuming and I was starting to get a blister on my finger. These were a lot of fun to make and I can't wait to see what the other ladies have done with their letters. Thanks for looking.

B is for BUG

Good evening everyone. I hope you're new year has gotten off to a great start. Yesterday I told you about an alphabet swap I was in, so tonight I'm posting one of those pages. I used Brilliant Blue card stock(SU) as the base and adhered generic white to that. The bugs are from TAC and are stamped using Only Orange Classic Ink (SU). I stamped the B using Basic Black (SU) and BUG was done on the computer. The ribbon is from Wal-Mart. Tomorrow I'll post the other page. Thanks for looking.

Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We were pretty busy getting ready with putting up the tree and carrying in all the boxes from the garage. I had shopping to do and 2 swaps to finish. We took our two granddaughters out for dinner and a movie and had a wonderful time with them. I joined an alphabet swap where you do 27 6x6 pages of one letter, one page goes to the hostess. Of course I chose to do 2 letters, so that added up to 54 pages. I'll get the whole alphabet back and will be able to put it all together in an album to make an Alphabet Book, or in my case 2 books. I'll post the two pages I did later. I also had a trading card swap to finish and get mailed. After finishing all that I was able to try out my new sewing machine that my husband gave me for Christmas. I made my goose a new outfit and a dust cover for the sewing machine........I want to thank everyone who reads my blog and takes the time to leave an occasional comment. So todays post is a Thank You Card for all of you. I made this one today just for you. The poinsettia (TAC) was stamped using Very Vanilla craft ink on Real Red cs (SU) and then embossed with Irridescent Ice EP. I added some yellow beads to the center and colored the rest with glitter pens. I used the Designer Label Punch (SU) for the sentiment and attached it with Off White Orgundy ribbon. Thanks for looking. Happy New Year to you all.
