My New Organizer

I saw this neat organizer a few months ago at Hobby Lobby and kept thinking about getting it, but never did. This weeks ad had the 40% coupon and I decided it was time to get it. This is what it looks like in the box......... And this is what it looks like out of the box. I still have a lot of things to put in it, but you get the idea. It's a lot bigger than I had invisioned it to be but I think it will serve it's purpose........
I hope you all had a terrific week and are planning a super weekend. My granddaughter has plans with a friend, so the dress is on hold. We're going to an antiques show tomorrow and then meeting friends for lunch. I think I'll be finishing some trading cards in the afternoon......
Thanks for looking and don't forget to sign up for the "candy" a few posts down...........Have a Blessed weekend..Rita

A Happy Hello

I'm posting early today because the weatherman said it's going to storm. Yea, right! Everyone around us gets rain, but not us. Yesterday it was raining to our north, south, east and west, but no rain here. Anyway, today's card was something I made a while ago and I can't remember what stamp set I used. I just know that I cut the flower out after stamping it on the Real Red card stock. The Crosshatch BG was stamped on the right half of the base card and the rest was attached to that. I really like the red and black together don't you? Don't forget you have until July 4th to post a comment for the blog candy. Scroll down to find it.....thanks for looking...Rita

Baby Boy

My husband's niece just delivered her first baby yesterday. Nathan Christopher arrived at 2:47am by way of C-Section, he thought he should come out walking. He weighed in at 8 lbs. and 21 1/2 inches tall. My husband has been nagging me to get a card made and in the mail. So today I worked on one in between diapers, feedings and an appointment I had for an Ultrasound. I finally finished it a little while ago and this is what I ended up with. It looks so much better in real life. I used Bashful Blue and Brocade Blue card stock and A New Little Someone stamp set and Flannel BG stamp from Stampin' Up! I did the Faux Blanket Stitch around the edges and added the baby beads across the bottom. The scan makes it look crooked, but it isn't....Don't forget to scroll down for the Blog Candy...Thanks for looking......Rita

Oops!

I forgot to tell you when the drawing will be. I've decided to draw July 4th at 8pm EDT. That gives you plenty of time to think of some nice thing to say about me, hee, hee, hee..........

Who Wants Blog Candy?

Wow, I just noticed that I have had over 5000 hits! Now I know I said when I get that many I would have something nice to give away. So to thank everyone for stopping by my little blog I'm offering some yummy "candy". I would also like to extend a special thank you to all those who have left comments, they mean so much to me. When I started this blog it was just a way to share my creations with my Aunt who lives in another state. I have since then built my own must read blog list to over 100 and even made a few friends along the way. Stampers are some of the nicest people you would ever want to know. I know you want to know what I'm giving away so here it is.................. Several brass embossing templates, a butterfly paper piercing template and tool, some fun fibers, a rub on and an Alma Lynne rubber stamp. Shop til you drop. The stamp was used in an image swap so it does have some staining on the rubber, but that was the only time I ever used it.
To enter this drawing you must leave a comment on this post telling me how you found my blog and what keeps you coming back. I don't know how to make it stick so you'll have to scroll down after any new posts. I'll pick a winning number using Random.org. Thanks for looking!

Polka Dots and Petals....Again!

I just noticed my counter is getting closer to that 5000 mark. You know what that means......Blog Candy! I've been collecting things to put in the "candy" dish and I don't think you'll be disappointed......I hope everyone had a good weekend. I know I did. I helped my granddaughter cut out a dress she wants me to help her make. It's kind of like a Renaissance type dress with the long sleeves and a short train in the back. Next weekend we're going to sew it together. It took us almost 3 hours to cut it out. I've never made anything that had that many pieces!
OK, today's card is another Polka Dots and Petals. this one is a Pocket Card. I'm really liking that Designer Paper.....Thanks for looking!

Sunday Challenge and a Link to Check Out

I'm really on the ball this week. Diane posted her challenge this morning and I went to work on it this afternoon. It took me a lot longer to complete than I originally thought it would. I used Real Red and Brilliant Blue form the Bold Brights color family. The neutral color is Confetti White. This looks so much better in real life. Thanks for looking. Now scroll down for the link to check out........... You have to go check out Stamping Diva and see the fantastic Blog Candy, or Desert as she calls it, that she is giving away. Serenity Poem

This weeks technique challenge over at Splitcoast was to make a quick card, one that only takes about 5-10 minutes to complete. This is what I came up with, it took me about 5 minutes. I stamped the Serenity Poem on the front of the card and then masked it so I could stamp the background. I used a retired Stampin' Up! Lace BG stamp ( I have no idea what it's called) and Brocade Blue ink. Then I tied the ribbon to the side and viola! If anyone knows the name of the Lace stamp please tell me so I can mark the case. Wow, can you believe it's Friday again! The weeks are going by way too fast. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend. I'll be back Monday.............Rita

Grout Free Tile

I made this card last week for the Technique Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. I chose a stamp from the Toile Blossoms stamp set and the colors are Rose Red and Regal Rose, all from Stampin' Up! I did the scoring with my ScorPal. The corner embellishments were cut using a Cuttlebug Die and then glued to the card. I found this fantastic glue pen from Creative Memories that works great on these small items. It's like a ball point pen so the glue is easily applied to small and narrow items (see below for picture). This is the first time I've done this technique and it was a lot of fun. I know I'll be doing it again. Thanks for looking...............Rita

All I Have Seen

This is another one of my favorite sets. I think the saying says it all. The colors used for this card were Cool Caribbean, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White and Basic Black. After stamping the dragonfly on the Whisper White card stock glue was added to the wings and then I sprinkled them with glitter. The tabs were made using the Word Window Punch and attached with black brads. After stamping the sentiment I wrapped some silver cord around the Cool Caribbean card stock and attached it to the Tempting Turquoise and then to the Basic Black. All supplies used to create this card are from Stampin' Up! This card looks so much better in real life. Click on the picture to get a bigger view. thanks for looking.............Rita

This card was made using another one of SU's retiring sets called Happy Occasions. The background was stamped using the Flannel BG stamp. I stamped the rattle with Versa Mark and embossed it with white EP. I Added Faux Stitching and then attached Pink Gingham ribbon with pink brads. All supplies used are from Stampin' Up! You can click on the picture to get a larger view. Thanks for looking.............Rita

Diane's Sunday Morning Challenge

This is Diane's Sunday Morning Challenge. This week was easy for me because we had a choice of any one of the soon to retire sets and that gave me 42 to choose from. That's right, 42 of my 100+ sets are retiring! Here's the set I chose. One of my all time favorites, Spring Garden. I used the papers from the Palette O'Prints and attached them to the Certainly Celery card stock. I'm somewhat pleased with the way this turned out.
Thanks for looking........

TGIF

I promise this will be my last card using Polka Dots and Petals, for a while anyway. I just never thought I would like this set as much as I do. This card was done using Pretty in Pink , Old Olive and White card stock from Stampin' Up! I embossed the base card using my CB Embossing Folder from Provo Craft. I really like the way this one turned out.
Thanks for looking and have a Blessed weekend.............

Polka Dots and Petals

I wasn't sure about this set at first, but I think I'm starting to like it. It's hard to tell from the picture but there's a clear button in the center. The sentiment is from Amazing to Zany and the colors are So Saffron, Certainly Celery and White, all from Stampin' Up! I don't know about the ribbon, I got it in a Blog Candy package a while back. The picture doesn't show how well it matches the colors.......Thanks for looking!

Private Showing

I'm a little late posting tonight but there's a good reason. My husband decided we should go to the movies tonight. Wild Hogs, which is a very funny movie, was still playing at our local theatre. We hadn't had a chance to see it so chose to go to that one. Well, this you're not going to believe. We arrived at the theatre, bought our tickets, went inside and sat down. We were the first ones there and had our choice of seats. Now here's the part you're not going to believe. No one else came in! We were there all by ourselves! So I guess you could say we had a private showing. I could laugh all I wanted and not have to worry about bothering anyone. It was great!
Today's card is one I made the other day using Certainly Celery, So Saffron and White card stock. I Cuttlebugged the backgrounds and stamped the white with Polka Dots and Petals stamp set from Stampin' Up! The circle was embossed with a CB Embossing folder....Thanks for looking.

Another Birthday

This is the card I made for my husband whose birthday was yesterday. I've always wanted to try making one of these Origami Shirts. It was a little challenging at first, but when I figured out all the folds I decided it was quite easy. The stamp set I used was Vogue Verses and the card stock is Brocade Blue. This was so much fun I think I'll have to make another one sometime soon. Thanks for looking..........Rita

Happy Birthday Kristen!

I made this card for my granddaughter who turned 15 the other day. Don't they grow up just a little toooo fast. I remember when she was first born, actually it seems like just yesterday that I gave birth to her Mother. Wow! Where does the time go?????
The flower was punched out using the flower punch and attached to the white circle with an eyelet. I then added it to the card with a pop dot. When I finished and was ready to add the money I discovered that it would slide into the front of the card. this way I didn't have to worry about it falling out.....That's it for this week. Hope you all have a great weekend. I'm going to another workshop Sunday afternoon so I should have something to share next week.....Thanks for looking!

Christmas at 90 degrees

I decided to get on the ball and get my June Christmas cards done early. I made ten of these the other day for the CCC '07 over at Splitcoast Stampers. It's 90 degrees here today and the last thing I want to think about right now is Christmas. I often wonder what it's like in Florida at Christmas. How do you get in the spirit if it's not cold or snowing? By the way, I noticed that my counter isn't moving up very fast. I'm planning a give-away when it reaches 5000 so go tell all your friends to stop by for a visit. I think you're going to like what I've chosen for this Blog Candy..... Thanks for looking. Have a good evening and Happy Stamping!

Project #5

This is the fifth project from the Stamps in The Mail Program. For this we used the On Board 5x5 Journal and Petals & Paisleys Designer Paper. We attached tabs to the pages made with the Round Tab Punch, you can't see mine from this angle but they're there. The alphabet letter was colored with Chocolate Chip using the DTP method. I haven't decided what I'm going to use this little book for, but it was a lot of fun to make. Kelly always sends us really nice things to create. All products used are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for looking, and don't forget, coming soon Blog Candy!

Doodle That

This is project number 3 from our Stamps in The Mail program. I love this card! The color combo is one of my favorites, Cool Caribbean and Chocolate Chip on White card stock. I think it looks so clean and fresh. The stamp set used was Doodle That. I noticed my counter is getting close to the 5000 mark and I've been busy looking for something to give as Blog Candy when it hits that magic number. So stay tuned to see what I find and what you'll have to do to get it. Until tomorrow, happy stamping...........

Stamps in The Mail -June

I got my package the other day containing the supplies for this month's stamps in the mail program from Kelly Battles. This month the featured stamp set is Happy Everything. This card represents two of the projects, a paperclip bookmark and a card. The card was made with a pocket to hold the bookmark making it a card and gift all in one. I really like this one. Thanks for looking............Rita

Where Did The Baby Birds Go???

The birds flew out of the nest Memorial Day. I don't know where they all went, but this one decided to stay here. We found him the other morning camped out on this chair. He let me get a couple of pictures of him before flying out into the yard. Look at those BIG feet!!!! Here's the back of the bird and what he did to the chair. My husband wasn't very happy about having to clean up this mess. I guess all babies are the same. They do two things and they do them well.....
I thought you might like to see the card I made for my May Christmas Card Challenge. I used Pallet O' Prints for the background, Real Red card stock and The World Over stamp set.....Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend.
