Heartfelt

This is a card we made at our last workshop using the reverse mask technique. I'm very pleased with the way this turned out. The stamp sets used were Heartfelt Thanks and Weathered Background......

Fact #15

I started working when I was 15. I had to get a work permit since I was still in school. I worked in the candy department at G C Murphy's 5 & 10. Gee I miss those stores. Here I am 48 yrs. later and STILL working........

Double Pocket Bag

I just love this Double Pocket Bag. It was made using one sheet of Designer Paper. You could put just about anything you can think of in the pockets depending on the occasion. I'm thinking packets of cocoa, soup mixes or even gift items like a favorite CD. This was so easy to make I know I will be making more of them soon. This project was inspired by Jenn Diercks from a Splitcoaststampers.com tutorial. Thanks for stopping by this week. Have a Blessed weekend....Rita

Fact #14
This is one that even I have a hard time believing, but it's true. I used to weigh 97 lbs. That's right, I was actually that thin at one time. Hard to believe isn't it? Wow! I'll never see that again.....

More Bali Breeze

I just love this Bali Breeze designer series paper. Here I used it on a desk calendar. Doesn't it look beautiful with the Basic Black card stock and Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon? I love the way this calendar turned out...........

Fact #13
I was a nail biter. I chewed my nails clear to the quick when I was in school. Now they are so soft I can't let them grow out because they bend backwards. Was this caused by my years of biting or were they always that way and I just didn't notice?

Just When You Thought I Was Gone.....

here I am back again... I just haven't been in the mood to do anything lately. Sorry I've been a bad blogger....Here's a card I made last week when I was in the mood to actually stamp. I used A Beautiful Thing stamp set for the flowers. I stamped them on Very Vanilla card stock with Basic Gray ink and then cut them out. After glueing a strip of Bali Breeze designer paper to the Real Red card stock I then attached the flowers with dimentionals. I then tied a length of Mellow Moss grosgrain ribbon and stamped the sentiment. All supplies are from Stampin' Up!

Fact #12
I love to read. I find it so relaxing to just sit and enjoy a good book. In the last 2 weeks I read the last 2 chapters of 1 book, read an entire second book and am now on chapter 6 of a third one. I've been reading about the Amish and have found 3 Authors I really like. Have you read anything good lately?

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. I'm posting this card today for obvious reasons. I'm not real pleased with it but it's all I had Valentine related to post, so deal with it......The small card with the stamped image is the actual card. I attached it to the larger piece of pink card stock after adding the hearts and ribbon....The stamp is from the Happy Heart Day stamp set and the colors are Real Red, Basic Black, Confetti White and Pretty in Pink. The ribbon is Real Red Grosgrain. All supplies are from Stampin' Up!

Fact #11
I love Reality shows. Survivor, The Apprentice, Big Brother & The Amazing Race. I don't really care for any of the other ones but these are my favorites. I can't get enough of these shows........

Brrrrrrr !!!!!

I hope everyone is keeping warm. We didn't get all the snow that was predicted but the roads are still hazardous. Right now it's raining on top of the snow we did get and if that freezes we're in BIG trouble. It was a pretty quiet day here, I just had one child due to the weather and she's the best of the three. How lucky can I get.........
Today's card is another one that can be used for just about anything or anyone just by changing the colors. I really like the way this one turned out too. The card itself is Saraha Sand card stock layered on Basic Black. I stamped the background with Versa Mark. The strip is Basic Black on Always Artichoke and Mellow Moss Gingham Ribbon on top. The medallion was done by embossing three times and stamping on the third while still hot. I used the True Friend set for this card. All supplies are from Stampin' Up!

Fact #10 This is hard to believe, but when I was in the first grade I wore a size 8 shoe, funny thing is that's what I wear now. In the third grade I wore a size 6x dress, I know 5 yr. olds that wear that size now. I was the runt in the family but have since grown a little..........

UTI- It's Back!

It's been one of those weeks. The kids were all sick with a virus, their parents all ended up with the flu, my hubby had a touch of it Friday and Saturday and I was in bed all day Sunday. Since I was having a LOT of low back pain I thought I should see the doctor. So I called this morning and was able to get in today. As it turns out my instincts were right and the dreaded UTI is back. I guess I should feel lucky that it wasn't the flu.

I just love the way this card turned out. The nice thing about it is that with a change of color it could be used for a man or woman. The stamp set used was True Friend and the colors are Cameo Coral, Brushed Gold, Sage Shadow and Sahara Sand. Also, Ruby Red ink, Mellow Moss Gingham Ribbon and a gold brad. The designer paper is Ginger Blossoms. The center flower has holes punched and the ribbon was sewn through them.........
Fact #9
I am terrified of snakes. I can't stand the thought of them. If I see one on TV I dream about them. We went on a nature hike once and there were big black snakes along the trails and hanging from the trees! I couldn't get out of there fast enough....

More Pix, Another LO and Fact #8

Good evening everyone. I hope you all had a good week. Today was not a good day here. I had 2 children sick with a virus, thankfully the third one stayed home. I just hope I don't get it........I have a few more photos to share with you and this will be the last ones. This one is a look at the private rooms we stayed in. They were really nice, very clean and well kept. Even the mattress was comfortable....... This is another view from outside along one of the trails. There's a pond and swing to sit on and rest.......
Here's another view of the front of the building........
This is a lay-out I did of my granddaughter Brianna for her eleventh birthday. She is a big fan of Hello Kitty.........
Fact #8
I have been doing child care for the last 20 years. I currently have three that I'm watching now. Madison-14 mo., Brady-9 mo. and Mackinsey-7 mo. They keep me busy but I wouldn't trade it for any other job...........Have a great weekend and thanks for dropping by..

Another Page, More Retreat Pix and Fact #7

Here's another layout I did at the retreat. This is our niece and her first baby Nathan. I did the page while I was there and added the letters after I got home. I cut them out using my Cricut machine. Isn't the baby just adorable???? This is the Chapel inside the retreat building. It's beautiful in person.
This is the front of the building taken as we were leaving. You can see the back of my car as we were driving out.
Fact #7
I got married when I was 16. It's not something I would suggest that anyone do. I didn't have to get married, in fact I was a virgin. The marriage lasted only 1 year and produced a beautiful son.......

Fact #6

Oops! I forgot to add Fact #6 so here goes......I have a heart shaped mole on my stomach. That's right, right next to my bellybutton.....

More Photos and Another LO

I thought you might like to see some photos of the grounds outside the retreat center. I took a little walk before leaving Sunday and took some pictures. It was a VERY little walk since it was bitterly cold. I walked to this bridge and across to the other side....... This is just one of the many stops along the trail and as far as I was able to walk..........
My daughter and I went to see the Diana Exhibit when it was in Dayton, Ohio. We weren't allowed to take cameras so I couldn't get any pictures of us to scrapbook. I did however want to put the event on a page and this is what I came up with......
Want a chance to win $30.00 in Stampin Up product??? Well, who wouldn't???? Just visit Michelle at The Stamp Workshop and see how. Tell her I sent you and don't forget to check out her awesome blog.....

Fact #5 and Photos

What a wonderful weekend we had. The retreat was great, we scrapped all day and into the night. We laughed, ate some great food and had a fantastic time......This is my daughter Jennifer working on one of her many pages. These pictures were taken the day we came home so we probably look pretty tired....... Here I am working on one of my pages. I completed 24 pages in all.....
This is one of the pages I did. That's my husband with his PT and my Brother-in- law with his HHR. What is it about men and cars?????
Fact #5: I HATE football!!!! I know it was Super Bowl Sunday and everyone was hyped over the big game, but I can't help it, I think it's BORING!!!

Good morning everyone.....I'm posting early today so I can finish getting ready to go to the retreat. We'll be leaving this afternoon at 4 o'clock and I still have a few more things to pack plus my suitcase. I plan on taking a lot of pictures while I'm there so you can look for those to be posted next week, I see another scrapbook in the making. Everyone have a great weekend and stay safe and warm. Thanks for stopping by........Rita

Fact #4
My husband and I celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary last week. I can't believe it's been that long. The time goes so fast, so make sure you treasure every minute of it.....
