TGIF

I made this card yesterday using the Poppin' Pastels technique. I wasn't sure if it would work with this stamp or not but it turned out pretty good. The stamps I used are from Lovely as A Tree and It's Your Birthday (inside). Card Stock colors are Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla. The ribbon is More Mustard Grosgrain.

Here's a view of the inside. Thanks for looking.......

Roses in Winter

Look what I found while looking through my card file today. I can't believe I actually had one that I never posted. It's been so long since I made this one that I can't remember what colors I used. I do know that the stamp set was Roses in Winter. ....... Thanks for looking!

Fact # 31 PASTA!!!!
I love, love, love pasta. Red sauce, white sauce, add some chicken or shrimp I don't care I'll eat it. I should have been born in Italy......

In Progress

I was visiting Jen's blog (http://jenstampin.blogspot.com/) and saw this idea for a color combo book. I liked the idea so much that I had to make one for myself. I'm not finished with it yet, I still have to cover the inside front and back cover. The paper I used is from Creative Memories. Every time I see a color combo I like I'll add it to my book. Go visit Jen's blog and see hers along with all her other beautiful creations. Thanks Jen for the idea.....

Fact # 30
Jig Saw Puzzles.....I absolutely love them. I'll spend hours working on one and it will stay on the table until it is completed.

What I Do All Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. It was a beautiful day here, sunny and pleasant but a little on the cool side. We enjoyed a delicious meal with family and friends after Church. Among the guests at dinner was our son-in-law's grandmother who will be 99 years old this July. It simply amazes me how alert this woman is. She doesn't even wear glasses! Anyway, I didn't have anything to share with you today so I thought I would show you what I do all day. These are the two girls I take care of. Mackinsey is almost 9 months old and Madison is almost 16 months old. They both weigh about the same and as you can see they're pretty close in size as well. They fill my days with love....

FACT #29
I didn't get my drivers license until I was 21. My Mother didn't believe in letting girls drive at a young age so I had to sneak to get mine even then. I would've thought she would get tired of taking me back and forth to work all the time when I was working out of town. When I had a job in town I walked......

Happy Easter

This is the last of the six Easter cards I made on Blizzard Saturday. I think of all of them that this one is my favorite. It's not real fancy, just simple and pretty. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter. Stay safe if you're traveling and remember what the day is all about. See you in Church............

Fun Fact #28
I'm a crier....I cry at everything, even some commercials. I see a new baby and I cry, I see a bride and I cry. I get teary eyed when I watch the marching bands in a parade or when we sing a certain song in Church. I'm so emotional it isn't funny......

Wild Wasabi

I made this card last week at stamp club. We used Wild Wasabi and Basic Black card stock, Embrace Life and Sincere Salutations stamp sets and Scallop Circle punch. Accessories are black brads and grosgrain ribbon.

Fun Fact #27
JUST SAY NO!!!!!
Well that's easier said than done. I have a real problem saying no. Whenever someone asks me to do something I always say yes, I can never seem to say no. It's not a problem most of the time but some times I wish I had just said NO. I guess I'm just too nice.

Thinking of You

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was quiet and uneventful. I went to stamp club and grocery shopping Saturday and Church Sunday. My life is pretty boring.
I made this card for a friend that was just diagnosed with cancer. It was done using the Chalk Board technique and Pick a Petal stamp set. The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations. All products are Stampin' Up!

Fact #26
Hair Today Gone Tomorrow!
I decided to go Blond when I was 19. I let my hairdresser talk me into doing it and when she was rinsing my hair it all broke off in the sink leaving about 2 inches in length. I had to go every morning before work to get hot oil treatments and to let her style it, or at least what was left of it. After that I never let anyone color my hair. It's hard to believe that I colored my hair myself for 45 years and nothing ever went wrong. I bleached it for several years before going to highlights and then back to coloring when I wanted to go Auburn. I now have my natural color and I guess it'll have to do for now......

He is not here.....

We had a blizzard last Saturday so I was stuck inside all day, boo hoo.....What to do, what to do. Well that was not a problem for very long. I decided this was the perfect opportunity to stamp and scrap. I scrapped 6 pages and made 6 Easter cards. This is one of those cards. I already posted one of the others and the last 4 will have to wait until next week-end since I don't want the recipients to see them before I get them mailed.........

Fact #25............Allergies!

I'm allergic to EVERYTHING I breathe, inside and outside all year long. It's not unusual for me to sneeze 25 times in a row before quitting. I even have sneeze attacks at the grocery store in the detergent aisle. Sounds like fun huh?

Mini Photo Album

I made this mini photo album last week using the Eastern Elegance Rub-Ons and Ginger Blossoms Designer Series Paper. The first photo is how it looks closed. This is just the right size to carry in your purse....

Fact #24
One thing kept me from being a teacher, college! And not graduating. I always thought I would like to be a Math teacher. I love working with numbers and Math was my favorite subject in High School and one of few that I got good grades in. I love Algebra! Can't you just see me with my hair in a bun and a pencil sticking through it? Or do they do that any more? I had a couple of teachers that did.....

Now I Think I've Seen Just About Everything......

Can you believe this? We got our ad today from Bed, Bath and Beyond and I couldn't help but zero in on these. You can clean your floor while wearing them, the bottoms look like little dust mops. Do you suppose anyone actually buys these?????

This is the Easter card I made to send to a brother and sister I used to watch. It was done using punches and a Basic Gray Marker. The flowers are Rub-Ons from Eastern Elegance. Isn't he cute?

Fact #23

I didn't know anything about computers before I got mine 8 years ago. I don't think I even knew how to turn one on. When I decided I had to have one, I went out and bought it, took it home and set it up and was surfing the net in no time. Everything I know has been self taught and I still have a lot to learn.......

My Baby Turned 39

Hard to believe isn't it? It seems just like yesterday that I held that beautiful baby girl in my arms for the first time. Time sure flies doesn't it? This is the card I made for her using Flower Fusion, Sincere Salutations and Friendship Blooms. I tucked a JoAnn's gift card inside and will be taking her to lunch this Saturday. We were supposed to go on her Birthday but we had a blizzard instead.......

Fact #22
Game Shows!!!!! I love to watch them. I would like to watch the old ones on GSN but they charge extra for that channel, bummer.... I've been watching the Price is Right ever since Bill Cullen was the emcee and the same four contestants played the entire 30 minute show. In my opinion they should take off all those sleazy talk shows and put the games back on......

Fact #21
I love to do crossword puzzles, play games and cards. I grew up in a card playing family. We played cards every Saturday night. My husband doesn't like doing anything related to cards or games, so I play a lot on the computer.......

Aly's Card Club

This is a card I made today using a layout and color scheme from Aly's monthly Card Club. I embossed the right half of the card using Floral Fantasy embossing folder and the Cameo Coral was embossed with the Bloom Dots folder. The center image was stamped on Whisper White with Rose Red using So Many Scallops from the SAB mini. I then punched out a scallop with the Scallop Punch, punched out the center with the 1 1/2" punch, tied Certainly Celery ribbon onto the side and attached it with dimentionals. That was then attached to Certainly Celery with dimentionals. After adding the Garden Green strip to the side I then glued the Celery piece to the card. Thanks Aly for the layout and color scheme........
Fact #20
I've had Scoliosis most of my life. For those who don't know what that is, it's a curvature of the spine. It has caused me quite a bit of pain through the years but I've learned to live with it. Now that I'm older (much older) I now have Arthritis and Osteoporosis which adds to my pain level. I have good days and bad days, but then again, I'm learning to cope......Have a great weekend!
PS: Please excuse any spelling errors. I see spell check isn't working again.

Great Shape

This is the card I made for my husbands brother. He likes to restore '56 and '57 Chevy's. The one he has in his garage right now is about the same colors as this card. The stamp is from TAC called Vrooom and the sentiment I did on the computer.........

Fact #19.........I've gotten 2 speeding tickets. the first one was when I was on my way to work. It was Saturday, my birthday and I didn't want to go to work. I tried to get out of the ticket by telling the officer it was the first time I had ever been stopped for anything and It was my birthday. It didn't work. The second time was when I was on my way to Church. The officer asked if I was in a hurry and I told him I was going to Church, which by the way was about 50 feet ahead. When he asked if I knew what the speed limit was I wanted to say apparently not 55, but I didn't and he wrote me a ticket. Why is it that my husband can go as fast as he wants and never get a ticket? He even got pulled over once and all he got was a warning!

Faux Embossing

I saw two Cardinals and a Robin this morning in our back yard. Isn't that a sign that Spring is near?

This is another card we did at Stamp Class. It's called Faux Embossing. We punched out flowers with the Three for You Punch and glued them to the top half of the card. The center of the tag was done with another Rub-On. You might have to enlarge the picture to see the flowers on the top half.....

Fact #18..........I used to be a waitress way back before they started calling them servers. Not to brag or anything, but I was a really good waitress. We didn't have trays or computers, we relied only on how much we could carry and how good our math was when it came time to add up the check (the register didn't do it for us). I was able to carry 6 glasses of water on 1 arm, you got water with your menu, and 7 dinner plates (2 on 1 and 5 on the other). Things sure have changed since then. I really enjoyed waiting on tables and meeting people. I'm a people person................

More Rub-Ons

This will be a short post. We're getting a lot of rain and it's starting to freeze. Our yard is flooded and the electric keeps going off and I wanted to get this in before it goes off again....This is another project we did at our Stamp Class using the Rub-Ons. Doesn't this look great on top of the designer paper???

Fact#17

I've had a weight problem off and on since my daughter was born 39 years ago. I would lose and then gain it back. I finally got to a weight I could live with and then quit smoking. That's when I gained 50 pounds!!!!! That was 20 years ago and I'm still trying to lose it. Having an under active thyroid doesn't help, and neither does the age.....

Rub-Ons

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I went to a Stampin' Up Class and then grocery shopping Saturday. Sunday was Church and take it easy day. It was a little warmer over the weekend and in the upper 60's to near 70 today. Too bad it's not going to last, the temps are dropping already. Oh well, it is still winter after all.......At the class I went to Saturday we tried out the new Rub-Ons. They are so easy to use and everything we did looked great. I did this vase for one of my projects. I just love the white on glass, don't you?

Fact # 16.........Corns!!!!! I have them and they HURT! I've had problems with my feet for most if not all of my adult life. They say it comes from those pointed high heels I wore in my younger years, but I don't know, what do you think?
