Lighthouse Note Cards

Another one of my favorite sets. I probably use this stamp the most. Maybe some day I'll come up with an idea for the rest of the set. Anyway, I got the idea for the first card from one I saw on my favorite site, Split Coast Stampers. I used a different color & the background is a little different than hers. Everything was stamped on white card stock & I drew a black line around the outside.

The second card is just a simple layered card. I can't remember what color I used. I found out today that my scanner is defective & the company is going to replace it. Finally now maybe my colors will scan the way they're supposed to & you'll be able to tell what the colors are. Thanks for looking.

Butterfly Thank You

The sentiment was stamped in white & the butterflies & leaves were colored in. It doesn't show up well in the scan. This card looks so much better in person. Thanks for looking. Have a Blessed weekend.

Liquid Applique

I'm not completely satisfied with this card but I'm posting it anyway. I put liquid applique on a piece of card stock & smeared it around with my finger. Then I heat set it & stamped on top of that. I tore the edges all around rather than cutting them & layered it on black. I used the Cheesecloth BG stamp to layer the main image on. The sentiment was stamped in white & embossed, it doesn't show up as well as I would have liked it to. In case you haven't figured it out yet, those are sail boats. Thanks for looking.

Trading Cards & Gifts

Today I decided it was time to post some things I did a long time ago & get them out of my file. First are 2 Trading Cards I did for a swap, I think the theme was anything "Girlie". Next is a Magnetic Grocery List that I did at my last monthly workshop.
We also did these Pocket Photo Albums. I put glitter on the flower so it would show up better. These items are quick, fun & make nice little gifts. Thanks for looking.

Cows!

I really had fun making these 2 cards. The first one is a stamp I've had for years & just never used. I took out this sentiment stamp & thought hmmmm, how about a smiling cow! I did faux stitching around the main image & added a polka-dot ribbon.

If anyone knows anything about scanners I would sure like to know what's wrong with mine. I've had to use my camera to take pictures of my most recent cards. Every time I try to scan them I get a thick black line about mid-way down. Anyway, I LOVE this cow. I used a Blender Pen for all the coloring & cut the photo corners on my Sizzix. Thanks for looking.

Thanks!

The large flower was stamped & then cut out, what fun that was, the center flowers were cut using my Sizzix die cutting machine. The background is tone on tone. I tore a piece of purpe card stock & attached it to the side. The rest is just stamped & layered.

Who doesn't love tulips? They always remind me of Spring. On this card I stamped Lace background on white card stock & then layered the tulip & the sentiment on top of that. It looks so much better in person. Thanks for looking at todays entries & feel free to comment.

I'm OK

It's been a busy, busy week here with company coming in from NY & CAL. I'm still trying to get caught up on my laundry & get things back to normal. We had a nice time & I always enjoy having family visit.
So, now you know the reason for today's post, I just thought it was appropriate for the way I feel right now. I love this little turtle & think it makes a cute Note Card for when you haven't written in a while.
I stamped the background tone on tone doing the green first & then attaching the coral on top of that. The squares on the turtle were colored with a Sharpie marker. I hope you like my turtle as much as I do. Thanks for looking.

Blue thank You

I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out but I was very pleased in the end. I stamped the background accross the top of the card & then added a strip of card stock. The buckle, (or ribbon slide) was made with my Sizzix die cutting machine. I put a silver brad in the center of the flower & 3 silver eyelets accross the bottom. Thank You can be replaced with any sentiment you want. Thanks for looking.

Celebrate

Okay, the company left this morning & our lives are back to normal again.
The first card today is a very simple celebration card. The flowers were stamped tone on tone to make the background & then in green with the sentiment stamped over it. I added a strip of black card stock through the center & attached a ribbon to it.

On this card I stamped the floral background & tore it in half & attached it to the top half. The cake was stamped, cut out, layered & then attached. I used Liquid Applique & glitter to parts of the cake & watercolored the rest. I then tied the ribbon in a bow & added the Happy Birthday.
Thanks for looking.

Useing Tags

These 2 cards were made useing the Tag Punch Kit. The first one I layered & the second one I didn't. You can't see from the scan but the flowers on the Birthday card have glitter in the centers. I used my Sizzix die cutting machine (Big Boss) to make the flowers.
Thanks for looking. Have a Blessed weekend.

Thinking of You

Todays entries are 2 Thinking of You cards. The first one I made for someone I thought needed to know that I am always here for her. I like the way it turned out. I hope she enjoys it.
The second card I made for a set that went in the mail.I used a lace background & layered that on the main card then stamped & layered over that. The bottom was run through the crimper. Both cards were done with some of my favorite colors.
Thanks for looking.

Art of Life

Here's 2 cards useing the same stamp set called Art of Life. The first one is an Anniversary card. I used the floral background stamp on vanilla cardstock with sahara sand ink & layered the flower on top then added a ribbon. The sentiment is a clear sticker.
The next card can be used for a note card or anything you want depending on the sentiment you put on the inside. This one was done by stamping the flower several times in creamy caramel ink then one time useing not quite navy & olive green. The floral background was stamped on barely banana cardstock with the same color ink.

The layers are not quite navy & vanilla.
Thanks for looking. All comments are welcome.

For the Kids

The clowns are layered on top of paper I ran through the crimper. I wanted this to be bright & cheerful so I used bright colors. This card could be for a boy or girl.
I put tiny buttons on the mouses's overalls & tied embroidery floss through the 3 buttons on the right.. The mouse was colored with an Aqupainter to give it a watercolor look. I thought this card would be nice for a child that got good grades or some other achievement.

Get Well

I really had fun making this card. It reminds me of Chicken Little. Everything was just layered with 2 square brads pulling it all together.
This is another Get Well I did as a quick & easy. I added the orange ribbon for extra color. Thanks for looking. ~~Rita~~

The floral background on the Notecard was stamped on yellow with brown ink. The flower in the center was done in watercolors.

I don't know why, but the scan doesn't show the green frame around the packages on the Birthday Card. They look kind of plain without it.

Thanks for looking. Have a Blessed weekend.

Birthday Times 2

Thought I would post 2 cards today since I've had some free time & gotten a few extra ones done. The first one is a Shaker card I did a while back. I thought the bright colors made it look more festive.
The next one I did for my Son In-Law. We always send cute or funny cards within the family. I went with the browns to make it more masculine & to go with the monkey.
Thanks for looking. Don't forget to leave a comment.........Rita

Unusual Background

The background on this one was done without using a rubber stamp. I have these texture plates that you lay your card stock on top of & rub over it with a stylus to make texture. I took this one & applied ink to it, laid the card stock on top & brayered over it. I think it turned out really nice. You could use this for a note card. Thanks for looking.

Pink Hedgie

Don't you just love these little guys? I did this one for a Thinking of You Card. The hardest part was stringing those tiny beads. I'm all thumbs when it comes to working with tiny objects.
Thanks for looking. Happy 4th!

Have A Great Day

This is a Birthday Card I made for my Brother in-law. I just got this set and had to try it out. That's drywall tape behind the main image. I think I'm going to like this set.
Thanks for looking & don't be afraid to leave a comment.
