Christmas Surprise!

Wow! what a delightful Christmas surprise. Just look at what I won from Cheryl over at Engineered Expressions .
http://cakvd2.blogspot.com

All she asked for was a contribution to the Crohns Foundation which I was more than happy to do. She then took all the contributor's names and drew one for this awesome package of goodies. I can't believe I am the lucky recipient. Make sure to check out her wonderful blog. Thank you soooo much Cheryl!

Merry Christmas everyone.

Finally!!! Some Time to Stamp

Well I finally had some spare time to stamp today. I made two 3x6 cards using the Rose Red card stock and Prints Designer Series Paper. This one I stamped the image with the Just Vine stamp set and Certainly Celery Prints Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from an older SU set that I found in my basket of loose stamps. I have no idea the name of the set it came from.......... This one uses Rose Red, Handsome Hunter and Pumpkin Pie card stock with Almost Amethyst DP. The stamp is from Katiebug Stamps. The inside says, Now I know why they call it I.C.U. I colored the image with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and used a Blender Pen..........
Thanks for stopping by. Have a safe and wonderful weekend....

Update and Some Cards

OK, I followed everyone's advice and went to the doctor yesterday. Everything is alright, no broken bones. The swelling was caused by a backup of blood on the kneecap. I'm using ice on them right now and the doctor said they should be back to normal soon. So, no more baby gate. I didn't get the time to create anything new so I thought I would share some cards I received from some of my SCS friends..........This one is from my good friend Adrian Gentilcore. You can find her blog on my sidebar under AdriansCrazy Life. This adorable card came from Allison Fimo at stampinwhenican, also on my sidebar.
This one is from my SU demonstrator Brenda. She used some of that beautiful new ribbon.
This wonderful card came from Kimberly Burress. This one looks a lot better irl. Sorry Kim I don't know your blog address or SCS name.
This one came from Dawn aka Dawn Mercedes at SCS. I PIF'd the skunk set to her and this is what she did with it. Very cute!
Thanks to all of you for these beautiful cards, I really appreciate them and your friendship. Merry Christmas to you all...........Thanks for stopping by.

I've Fallen and I Can't Get Up

Sorry I don't have anything to share with you today but I didn't want to stay away another day without posting something. Have you ever had one of those days when you did something totally stupid? Well that's what I did today. I put a baby gate up between the kitchen and hallway to keep the one year old out of trouble. Today I decided I could step across the gate to get to the other side instead of taking it down. Well, need I say more? You got it, I caught my foot on the gate and went head first to the other side landing full weight on my knees. My left one took the most weight and this is what it looked like when I was finally able to get up and take a picture. The swelling had started to go down by this time. I swear I've never seen anything like it. It looked like I had a tennis ball on top of my knee. Now I know why they call them hardwood floors. I'm starting to walk a little better now but I'll bet tomorrow will be another story. I'll try to make something to share with you. Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening.......Rita

Christmas in Gold

I got these two stamps from the PIF forum at Splitcoast Stampers and this is the card I made using them. I stamped the main image on white card stock and layered it on Real Red. Then I attached that to the Brushed Gold Card and stamped the saying with Real Red Classic Ink. I really like these stamps and will probably use them a lot next year since all my cards for this year have already gone postal. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Ladybug PJ's and A Card

Remember last week when I told you I was doing some sewing? Well these are the pj's I made. Can you believe it??? I actually found ladybug flannel... This is another workshop card I did last week. The wreath was done using the Three for You Punch Box. This was another time consuming project but well worth it in the end. Thanks for looking................Rita

First Snowfall

I got up this morning to the season's first snowfall. Why is it that every year we get a little snow and everyone forgets how to drive????? All you have to do is SLOW DOWN!! Anyway, I'm still home alone and getting some things done, like sewing. Last night I made the goose a new outfit and myself a new pair of pj's.
In honor of today's snow I'm posting this card I made last weekend at our workshop. It's made using both small and large tag punches. We punched 16 tags and glued them onto white Mulberry paper. It was very time consuming but the end result was well worth it. All supplies are Stampin' Up! Thanks for looking...........Rita

Joy Coasters

I know I've been AWOL but my hubby has been out of town since last Wednesday and I just haven't been keeping up on things. When he's not here I get to play more and to be honest, I just forgot about blogging. He'll be home this Friday and I'll have more time, since I won't be able to play as much.

I made this at a workshop this past weekend. We used chipboard coasters, covered them with designer paper and added the letters and embellishments. Sorry for the poor picture. I can't remember the name of the DP but I know it was Stampin' Up! Thanks for looking...........Rita

Simply the Best

I've been spending a lot of time at SCS on a new thread called PIF swap, or Pay it Forward. I've traded out quite a few of my sets in the last week. I made this Thank You card using one of those sets and will be sending it to the person I got it from. The set is called Simply the Best and I love it. Here are the supplies I used: Creamy Caramel and Really Rust card stock, Really Rust Classic Ink and a strip of Out Law DP all from Stampin' Up! The white is from an unknown source. This card will go postal tomorrow...Thanks for looking!

60 Sucks!

My Sister in-law and I have this thing going where we try to out-do each other every year on our birthdays. She's a couple of years younger than I, but don't ever tell her I admitted it, so every year I get her an age card for her birthday. She turns 60 next week and I wanted to let her know what it's like to be 60. So instead of getting her one of those "you know you're getting older" cards I made her this one. 60 Sucks! was printed out on the computer and the suckers are from SU's Very Punny. I'm sending this in a box with 60 suckers. I hope she likes it. Thanks for looking............Rita

Stippled Rose Quickie

I had a few minutes today and wanted to try something new. I've never done the Poppin' Pastels technique and thought I'd give it a try. I stamped the image on white card stock with VersaMark and then chalked it with non SU shimmery chalks. I then cut out the image and glued it to the black card stock circle and glued that to So Saffron card front. I used my tracing wheel from my sewing box to make the holes around the outside for the faux stitching. The ribbon was attached with a glue dot and the sentiment is from Warmest Regards stamp set. All stamps and card stock is from Stampin' Up!
Thanks for looking.............Rita

Happy Friday!!!!

I had a few minutes today to play and decided to do this scrapbook page. I've been wanting to get it done for a long time and now I finally have it finished. This is an it's all about ME page and I used Stampin' Ups Just Delightful Simply Scrappin' kit, some assorted stickers and Karen Foster Snap Stamps. If you click on the photo to enlarge it you'll be able to read what all it says on the page.
Thanks for looking and have a super weekend..........Rita

Another Workshop Project

Ooops, I got so busy cleaning my stamping room that I completely forgot to post last night. I'm slowly getting it done, should have it complete by tomorrow. So, this is all I have left to share with you. I made this Christmas Tree Ornament at our workshop using On Board Trimmings, Dashing DP and Star Studded Season all from the Holiday Mini......Thanks for looking!

A Request and A Workshop Card

i.r. stamper asked to see all the one sheet wonder cards I did for Christmas. So here they are, back by popular demand........ This is the card we made at our workshop Saturday. I know I said no more Christmas Cards but this was a workshop and I didn't know that we were going to do Christmas, Sorry. We loved this set so much that everyone ordered it. It's called Fabulous Flowers and it's just that, fabulous! I see it as an all occasion set. It wasn't meant to be a Christmas set, but look at the beautiful Christmas Card we made using it.
Be prepared to see a lot of this set in the future. The sentiment came from Star-Studded Season, another set I like that I'm also getting.

I'm cleaning and moving things around in my stamping room again and I can't get in there to stamp. If I don't get done by Wednesday I won't have anything to share with you until next week. I have two more things for this week and that's it. Cross your fingers that I get it done soon, my back is killing me and I don't go back to PT until next week. Until tomorrow, thanks for looking and have a great evening.......Rita

The Last Christmas Card, Maybe.....

Maybe next week I can work on something other than Christmas Cards. I have all I need for this year with quite a few left over. I sent all my leftover cards to Debbi to be sent over seas for the Cards for the Troops program. This is such a great program and it makes me feel good to know I'm helping in some way, even if it is just sending cards.
Today I'm sharing another Christmas Card I made last week. This one is just a simple and super quick card. The tree is from the Merry and Bright set and the saying is from Happy Everything. All supplies are from Stampin' Up.
I guess you've noticed I haven't been keeping up with my blog lately. The reason for this is I'm not sure anyone is actually reading or looking anymore. It's hard to find time to make something special to share when you're not sure anyone is even going to see it. So, with that being said after next week I might take some time off. I'll let you know next Friday for sure and for how long. Thanks for looking and have a great week-end.

Another Christmas Card and I've Been Tagged

Here's another card I did the other day. I really like these colors together.
The tree was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Gold EP. The corners were punched using the Photo Corner Punch. All supplies are Stampin' Up! Thanks for looking...........Rita

I've Been Tagged
I've been tagged by my friend Laura over at Lu-la's Corner (thanks Laura). This one is stamping/scrapbooking related; FUN!!!RULES: Answer the questions and tag 5 people to do the same. Make sure you let the people that you are tagging know that they have been tagged. Here goes:

1) If you could have $100 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose?- This is easy. It has to be the paper!

2) If you had to choose between using only stamps or rub-ons, which would you choose?- STAMPS!!! Although rub-ons are nice sometimes.

3) If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts, but could only do one for a whole year, which would you do? I guess it would have to be the scrapbooking. I'm soooo far behind

.4) Would you rather own a scrapbooking store or have your own scrapping room at home?- I would love to own my own business, so I have to go with owning a scrapbook store. (Think of it as a really big scrapping room).

5) What is your CURRENT card making or scrapping style?- Right now I guess I would have to say Simple and easy.

Now to tag five people. Well I'm not sure who hasn't already been tagged so I'm going to keep this one to myself. If you're reading this consider yourself tagged.

Happy Birthday Chris

I made this card today for my Nephew in-law Chris. I used the lighthouse stamp from Winds of Grace set and the DP is from the Pallet O' Prints. Card stock and ink is Close to Cocoa and the faux stitching was done with the uni-ball Signo Gel Pen. I added the initial brad C for Chris.
I hope he likes it. I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. Thanks for looking..........Rita

Happy Birthday Lindsay

I made this card for my nephew's girl friend. You can't see it but I put glitter in the center of the flowers. This is the first time I've used Baroque Motif stamp set, this one belongs to my demonstrator. I wasn't sure I really liked it but now that I've seen it in action I think I'm going to have to order one of my very own. I love the way this card turned out. I used Linen background on white card stock and stamped the main image over that.
Thanks for looking........Rita

Reasons to Smile

This is the first card I've made with this set. I just haven't been able to come up with any ideas for it. This is what I finally ended up with, nothing spectacular..... The butterfly was stamped on white card stock with Almost Amethyst. I then used a spray adhesive to add a dryer sheet to it. While still wet I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter on top to give it some sparkle. This was layered on Barely Banana. The sentiment was punched out using the small tag punch and a small rhinestone makes the o in you. All stamps, ink and card stock is from Stampin' Up! Thanks for looking............Rita

Sidekick Sayings

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I went for my Echo cardiogram Saturday morning and then out for breakfast. We went to Perkins and I had way more than I could eat. They have the best breakfast menu around. Yesterday was church and then two loads of laundry and sheets to change. Sounds like the perfect weekend doesn't it?
Anyway, the card I'm sharing today is one I made Friday with my new Sidekick Sayings. I just love this set so much. I stamped a background in Old Olive using the stem and leaf stamp on Whisper White card stock. I layered that on top of Barely Banana and added photo corners punched out of Old Olive and Barely Banana. I added some little squigglies (made up word) around the outside. The main image was stamped in Old Olive on Whisper White card stock. I used Stampin' Write Markers on the flower and added a rhinestone stickie (another made up word).
All supplies used are Stampin' Up!
Thanks for looking and Happy Stamping..............Rita

TGIF-The Last Three Cards

Since I was AWOL yesterday I decided to post the last three cards together. The first one is using the Season of Joy set from the Holiday Mini and the last two are Peace on Earth (retired). I'm not real pleased with the way the last two turned out.
I hope you didn't get too bored looking at my OSW cards. I'm hoping to have something new to share with you next week.
Tomorrow I go for an Echo cardiogram and then we're going out for breakfast. When we get home I'll have house cleaning to do and maybe a little stamping time. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for stopping by...........Rita

OSW #8 & 9

Here are cards number 8 & 9. I used the retired SU set called Peace on Earth for these. The first one has a star button attached to the ribbon and the other one has some fancy fiber. Wow, I actually added some embellishments.....Thanks for looking....Please pray for all those in California affected by the fire. My niece lives near San Diego and may have to leave soon.........Thanks, Rita

OSW #6 & 7

Well you must be getting tired of these by now, so I'm going to post the rest of them two at a time. Here's number 6 & 7. As you can see I didn't put a lot (actually none) of embellishment on these. I just wanted them to be quick and easy..........Thanks for looking...Rita

It's Monday and OSW #6

Good morning all, hope you're all enjoying this beautiful Monday. I went to physical therapy this morning so I'm hurting a little more than usual. They really give you a good work out. I had a rough day
Saturday pain wise. I went shopping and forgot to change my shoes. I have a lift in the ones I'm supposed to wear and believe me I don't think I'll forget the next time. I did however get some time in to clean up my craft room. My husband put up a shelf for me and installed a light under it so I now have more light to see what I'm doing. I had the hard job of putting everything back. Yesterday wasn't a good day either. I was having bladder problems and had to just stay in and take it easy. Why is it that this always happens on the week-end? Anyway, I'm all set to start a new week with PT and I see my doctor on Wednesday to talk over the results of my last breathing test, gee I hope this is good news........
Here's the sixth card I made from the One Sheet Wonder. I'm sure glad I got all these made since I haven't had time to stamp lately. At least I now have a clean table to work on when I get the time. Thanks for looking!

OSW #2

This is the second card I made with the One Sheet Wonder. I matted this one on Bravo Burgundy and then attached it to Brushed Gold card front.
I then tied a knot in a piece of Bravo Burgundy cs and attached it to the corner......Thanks for looking.......Rita

One Sheet Wonder

I finally decided to try making some cards using the One Sheet Wonder technique. I chose a sheet from the Just Delightful Simply Scrappin' kit. I cut it down to 8 1/2 x 11 and printed the cutting lines on the back. The stamp set I chose to use was Seasons of Joy from the Winter Mini. Other card stock and ink colors I used were Handsome Hunter, Summer Sun and Close to Cocoa. I got a total of 12 cards from that one sheet of designer paper......Thanks for looking....Rita

A Wave of Light

I just wanted to get this posted early for all to see. I'll be back later with a card to share.......Rita

Something to Think About

Thought I would post some fun things for you to think about today. I got this from my sister in-law and just wanted to share it with you. Hope you're all having a great weekend........

ONLY IN America .... do drugstores make
the sick walk all the way to the back of the store
to get their prescriptions while healthy people
can buy cigarettes at the front.
Only in America ...... do people order
double cheeseburgers, large fries,
and a diet coke.
Only in America ...... do banks leave
both doors open and then chain
the pens to the counters.
Only in America ...... do we leave cars worth
thousands of dollars in the driveway and
put our useless junk in the garage.
Only in America ... ... do we buy hot dogs in packages
of ten and buns in packages of eight.
Only in America ...... do we use the word 'politics'
to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning
'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.
Only in America ...... do they have drive-up
ATM machines with Braille lettering.
EVER WONDER .... Why the sun lightens our hair,
but darkens our skin?
Why women can't put on mascara
with their mouth closed?!
Why don't you ever see the headline
"Psychic Wins Lottery"?
Why is "abbreviated" such a long word?
Why is it that doctors call what they do "practice"?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor,
and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
Why is the man who invests
all your money called a broker?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic
called rush hour?
Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?
Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?
Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
You know that indestructible black box that is used
on airplanes? Why don't they make
the whole plane
out of that stuff?!
Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?
Why are they called apartments
when they are all stuck together?
If con is the opposite of pro,
is Congress the opposite of progress?
If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport
the terminal?

No Time to Stamp

I can't believe I haven't stamped anything this week. I just haven't had the opportunity to do so. I have to go to PT twice a week for a back problem I've been having and then come home to three babies to care for. My time for stamping is few and far between. Since I didn't post anything yesterday I felt the need to post something today. So here are some purse cards I made last week to put in with stamp sets that I traded. I stamped Thanks inside each one. They were made using the Coluzzle Purse Template and SU designer paper. I really hope I can find some time to stamp this weekend......Thanks for looking.....Rita

And the Magic Number Is.................

208!....That's right, I have 208 stamp sets from Stampin' Up! and I've only been stamping for 3 years. No one guessed it so I'm taking the closest answer which was 202 by Janet Allen.
Janet, send me your address so I can get your prize in the mail.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by to leave a comment, sorry everyone couldn't win.
I'm finding it harder and harder to get any stamping done. I have three babies (3,5&10 mo) here every day and they take up most of my time. So I don't have anything to share with you today.....Sorry, maybe tomorrow.

Baby Food Treats

We still don't have a winner for the candy. There are a couple that are very close so keep guessing. You can guess as many time as you want. If no one guesses it by tomorrow at 8pm EST I will choose the one that is the closest without going over. You may submit your guess on this post or the previous one.
************************************************************************
Here's what I'm doing with all those baby food containers I have cluttering up my craft room. I just can't seem to throw them away. I put M&M's in this one. Let me know if you have any ideas for what else I can do with them. Thanks for looking...............Rita
